That's because reducer bushings are socket x spigot. Spigot means that it fits into a coupler, not normal pipe.

The large diameter is the O.D. Of the pipe. you need to install it into a Socket AKA a coupler,elbow,other bushing, ect...

ChambersX2 = 3" X 5'
Barrel = 2" X 8'
Elbows X 2, 90 degrees
Connecting tubes X 2 = 2" X 1'
Pilot chamber 1 = 2" X 7"
1, 4 way X 2"
Piston fits inside a 2" sch40 pipe, (the pilot chamber) X 3 1/2" LONG
Max pressure i can get from my aircompressor is 110psi
Thats it, i don't think i missed anything, you tell me what the GGDT tells you, then i'll tell you what it told me.

Well the blow gun must not be venting the pilot chamber fast enough, because the piston still won't open! Basterd! What next? Mod a sprinkler valve?? What do you guy's think? Who else has had a problem with the piston not opening. What did you do to fix it?

Well i did it, i broke down and ordered a 1" modded valve from Bcvids. If this does make it work i'm gonna give it up! So i guess i have to cut the end cap back off to attach the new sprinkler valve, so i probly need a 2" cupler, then reducer to the valve. I think i'll name it Basterd! Jet black and crome with red letters, what do you think about my paint sceem?

awesome, that cannon looks very similar to a cannon i have in my shop im working on right now. except for im just using two 1" sprinkler valves for the two 5' long 3" PVC chambers. ha, your one of the first to use a wood piston, im anxious to learn how that turns out. good luck.

the reducers that said 3 to 2" wouldn't fit inside the 3" pipe i'm useing for chambers
That's because bushings fit into a coupler, buddy. :wink:

Have you got this to work yet?My piston cannon wouldnt fire properly with the blow gun attached with some hose so i just attached it to the valve itself and now it works.Is the piston the same size as the barrel becasue there might be no surface area for the airto push on for it to open.Was the 4 way intersection 3"??And what weight is the piston and how big is the pilot volume?LOL enough questions.

what's the diameter of the barel comapred to the one of the piston. The piston should be bigger, and when depressurising the pilot chambern the piston should seal it of from the main chamber.

I had the same problem on my first gun. The cnamber emptied trought the pilot valve, cause there was to little difference between the diameter of the barrel and the piston. Try to make the pistons diameter al big al possible.
