Hi, I'm pretty new to this and am still yet to learn a whole bunch. I saw the attached photo in another thread here and it got me thinking. I would really like to make a gun that has everything it needs to function built into it. The idea is to use this form factor but modified for functionality.
In the green box, I would like to have a 300+PSI shock pump. This will be able to be connected to the air tank, the purple box.
I do not require a massive amount of shots for each charge of the tank, is it possible to connect the pressurized tank directly to a QEV (red box)? If I can do that, I would like to then have a push button valve in the blue box to act as the pilot for the QEV.
The yellow box would be a vertical pellet feeder that would be 'spliced' into the barrel and manually actuated via a bolt.
My biggest issue is I have no idea if I can avoid having a 'chamber' as such and connect the air tank directly to the QEV, without using all of my air in one shot. I've got about 40 tabs open on the subject but I just dont seem to be able to find or understand the information to answer that question.

For this style of launcher i would recommend a QEV piloted by a hammer valve or hammer valve by its self both very efficient system.
I know Brian the brain has a very good rifle that uses a QEV piloted buy hammer valve, but cant seam to find a link to it.

A shock pump takes forever to take anything more than a cubic inch or so to high pressure, I'm not sure you're looking at this the right way.
I would think about connecting the shock pump directly to the QEV chamber area. That way, a small number of pumps get you enough air for one shot.

why don't you want to have a chamber ?? it doesn't have to be big - just a lenght of 0.5" or 0.75" pipe
add a 3 way valve and you've got a gun

It would help us help you if we knew what sort of calibre amd projectiles you were planning to use, barrel length, what sort of performance you expect (for example hit and penetrate a soup tin at 30 metres) and what sort of budget you have.
