After browsing this forum for a while, I've gotten into pneumatics. I have made both a pcp airsoft rifle, 2" piston valve cannon (PVC), and a simple sprinkler valve cannon. I have been searching around for a galvanized steel piston valve, but the only obstacle for me is the piston seat. The fittings at my local hardware store will not thread in backwards like all the guys on this forum's do. Any suggestions to get around this?
Thanks,

As above, find something like a compression fitting that effectively allows the end of your barrel to be the seat.

Make sure that you can cut the barrel pipe squarely, and finish the end sufficiently smoothly that it will seal properly as well as not damage the piston face seal.
