Looking for a good gun to build
Hey Claybob, what part of Ky you from? I'm from Bullitt co. And I just bought a 3\4" Rainbird sprinkler valve from lowes. There located in the plumbing , irrigation section. And if you buy one, there are very easy modding directions in the construction materials forum. Good luck.

Okay, your big problem is that you're shopping at lowes. Lowes and home depot have nothing plumbing wise. You need to go to a local plumbing store. I live here in cedar city where the population of the whole county is 50,000 and we have 2 plumbing stores here in town. I'm almost certain there is one near you that can get you what you need.

U-shaped sprinklers do work, especially with over under guns. I don't know how to modify a u-shaped valve to actuate pnuematically but frankrede here on this site does know how to. It improves performance immensely so I highly recommend you talk to him about it.

awesome, i hope to be picking this up tomorrow or weds and build this weekend! ill let you all know the outcome. I did a little research and found that a good c:b ratio for a pneumatic gun is 1.5:1. so how does a 36" long, 2" chamber, and a 42-45", 1.5" barrel sound?

My chamber is 4" by 5.5" and my little 12v compressor blows it up to 35psi in less than 10 seconds. I'ts ready to launch before i've loaded the tennis ball n the barrel.Plus, if you have a tiny itty bitty compressor like mine then you can just let it sit while your compressor fills it up over the next 5-10 minutes.
