@Ragnarok, Thanks for catching my GGDT error, it can hit about 1000 fps with a 1 gram projectile, I accidentally said 5 oz. My bad on that one. About the soldering, thanks for the compliments, the reason it looks so good is because I used sandpaper to take off the excess solder.

Ah, sandpaper. I normally just accept stray solder, but that's a way of dealing with it I hadn't considered.

That's definitely a nice cannon. I kinda want to build a copper one next, but I'm torn between the high pressures and good looks of copper cannons, and the massive projectiles and awe-inspiring power of larger cannons.

Yours is a good one, I like. Let's have some damage shots neh? I like damage...

I have the large/small dilemma over my next project.
I feel like a little like doing a "simple" high end PVC/ABS combustion, but I also want to do a fancy 6mm auto copper combustion.

I may have to flip a coin over it.

I will get some damage pictures as soon as possible, but I have put a nail through 3/4" plywood from ten yards.

@paaiyan: That is a question I am always dealing with, like whether to build this gun or a 2" piston gun, as my last one broke, due to lack of bumper.

Just took some pictures of damage, sorry to say that the damage isn't all that impressive.

For some reason the pictures are really blurry.

What pressure was used for the damage to the can? If it was the suggested 150 psi i would have expected a bit more damage too :?
Hope you get it sorted. :)

Nova- It was 150psi, but the reason for the poor destruction is that I just glanced it and I shot it from a poor angle. Also, the can was filled with water.

This gun is really deceptively powerful, as there is no kick, and not all that loud. I would love to test this thing with some ballistics gelatin or another similar substance.

Usually water filled cans do much more impressive things than empty ones.
Did you use a nail dart for shooting the can? If so, try something less pointy which will transfer energy into the water better.

The plywood shot is interesting. I would have expected a little more, but I don't have much experience with nail darts, I tend to throw bigger things at the target.

I'm going to try it out tomorrow with some ball bearings and possibly some dowels.

The plywood shot is interesting. I would have expected a little more.
I think that the plywood shots are pretty impressive. If the nail darts didn't have tape on them, they would go straight through the board.

The nail darts are tremendous ammuntition. I put one of those nails through 3 inches of maple@150psi from 10 yards.

Don't get me wrong, that's still very good.
What I mean to say is that I believe that you could do even better with them. A discarding sabot would produce nice results.
