I really hope one day I can get the chance of making a gun like this... It looks seriously good, all these metal are very well made and properly polished, and the mechanisms are pure work of art. I don't know if one day I will be able to make one ( .22 bore, instead of 9mm ), right I have big lack of time, tools and money :(

time, tools and money
I can tell by your designs...
If only you had the above...you would amaze everyone, I'm sure!

I could use some threadcutter tools and a mill myself though...

But I also lack the money to get it...

I can't wait to start on the PCP counterbalance-valved forced blowback bullpup -removable mag equiped-machinegun I have planned.......

It will use several components I have tried in the past and some new ones.
I'll be combining 'em all into one beast of a gun.
I bet I can do a much better job on it than I did on this one.
Learned so much ( mostly on how NOT do do stuff) on this gun.

Oh well...

I think of all my previous builds that way.

I take the good ideas and get rid of the bad and so I climb up.....

Thanks BTB.
But designs I posted here aren't big stuff, the really good ones are in my mind and sketch book  didn't post them because I knew without precise tools, materials and time it's practically impossible to make them Properly :( (sorry this is kind off topic)

I can tell by what you have done with the limited tools and materials available to you.

Not really off topic either since I too have more designs in my head than I could ever make properly... :D

Sorry for the late post, but can someone explain to me the "counterbalanced" aspect of this. I see a piston extending into a closed chamber, wouldn't that not move. Thanks

In a conventional hammer valve, the full force of the pressure in the chamber is keeping the valve shut. This is why you don't get more power from your Crosman BB gun by giving it a couple of extra pumps ;) pressure is higher, but so is resistance to the hammer.

Brian's design limits the exposed area of the valve, so there is much less resistance to movement compared to an equivalent flow conventional design.

Itchy etchy scitchy scetchy...

I got a permanent imprint...
Yeah!!
Now I'm encouraged to do more..
I started out with the battle scarred side so I'd be safe in case of a failure..

Will get stronger acid and etch for longer times on the better looking parts

Me so happy!!!

That's actually not bad! Just needs to be a bit deeper.

Masking tape gave me much more defined lines, left is tape, right is nail polish:

Yep..masking tape it is..I think the vaseline was also part of the problem.

Do you other stuff besides selfportraits?

I'll put some skulls on mine so we can compare results... :D

Edit:
Oh..I'mconsidering filling up the scars and going for a smooth surface...
In that case I'll remove this design and start over...but deeper this time.

I once told a girl I had a human skull, she was absolutely amazed until I pointed out that she had one too... and so did everyone else

My brother once scared the crap out of some guy claiming I had some fingers in my fridge while he was more into keeping the ears.

Mind you we were both in our bodybuilding prime and were wearing bulletproof vests and an earplug at that time.

Later, after this ( made up) story had been retold many times, my brother had an argument with someone who had learned of this tale.

He wouldn't listen so my brother said: " you got ears don't you?!?!?"
The guy nearly wet his pants believing he was about to be bound to a chair or something....

:D

Oh the lies people believe when you're a bouncer..The straight face helps...
