A quick question, is 4 inch the piston OD or the valve orifice size? Valves seem to have 3 standards for measurement.
1 Pipe size such as a 1 inch sprinkler valve fits 1 inch pipe regardless of orifice or diaphragm size.
2 Orifice size. Size of the opening through the open valve.
3 Piston diameter. The pipe size and orifice sizes are often much smaller. Many 2 inch piston valves fit 1.5 inch pipe.
