when using DWV pipe look for PN 12 or PN 18
pn is pressure rated and it stands for bars
12 bars = 174
18 bars = 260
if it doesnt have PN... dont buy it!
CO2 in pvc?

You can use teflon tape but you need 6 or seven turns. Anso make sure the valve is rated for the pressure. Most aren't. Also DO NOT use steel fittings from a hardware store for the CO2, they are rated to 150 PSI ONLY!

Use a regulator on the CO2 tank. That way the pressure coming from the tank is a maximum of about 150 psi.
You should have no need to make a 1000 psi join - if you do, then you are doing something seriously wrong.
Your listed design should be fine. If done right, you could probably even avoid the heating coil. Just be careful not to get liquid CO2 anywhere but the tank. That could be fatal.

$60 is a cheap reg if you were to buy a cheap bulk tank reg you would then need an asa to npt adapter, a 3000 PSI 1/8" x 1/4" pipe nipple. That would still put you over the $60. If you cant afford it that DON"T do it 850-3000 PSi is nothing to joke with. The stored energy in the gas can cause things to go wrong in a very bad way.
Well what other options do I have? I intend to play paintball and I cant keep running back to the house to the air compressor every 6 shots. (please dont even bother to bit*h about shooting at ppl. I'd likely be the first to go. I mean it, dont make one comment)

Well if you do intend to shoot at people that this topic is against forum rules. There is a good reason too, the gun you are trying to build can get hundreds of FPS with a paintball, way to dangerous to shoot at any living thing! Either buy the tank and reg or drop it. There aren't really any options unless you want to attach a pump to the gun.
DANG IT!! Did you freaking read my post?!?!?! You are all pethetic...You guys just cant resist an opportunity to argue.
Obviously I dont need to fill the tank to a pressure that would hurt someone and you should really be smart enough to figure that one out since youve been here long enough to post over 1000 times. That is the reason I put a PRESSURE GAUGE on my gun.
back to the point:
Does anyone know what kind of metal piping is rated at about 1000psi?

he does have a point though, even spudtech wouldnt allow you to talk about shooting someone with a paintball at 20psi from a homemade gun,the pressure doesnt matter, anywho for a chmaber you could use a fire extinguisher, the co2 ones are rated to a couple of thousand psi and the dry powder is rated to 300psi.so you'll have to use a co2 one.
That wouldnt even hurt at point blank but whatever...I hate it when people are "politically correct" (nothing is)...
hummmm...I was thinking something more along the lines of having a pipe between 3 ballvalves like the cumbustion cannons use with propane...Know of anytning I could use like that?

A paintball gun stings like a 4-ton wasp. But, I would still rather get shot by that, than my brother's low bore pneumatic at about 20 or 30 psi.
That will easily punch a frozen potato slug through a 3/4" thick wooden fence at about 40-45 psi, still have enough punch left to smash a full coke can into three bits (which will be retrived about 5 metres from the impact point), and atomise the contents over a 3 or 4 metre radius.
Would you want to get hit by something that could do that?
Propane metering systems need - guess what - a regulator. If you're going to get reliable and safe systems, you're not getting around a regulator. I can get a variable 0-10 bar CO2 regulator for about £25. Which is rather less than the $60 than you listed.
I don't know where you're looking, but it can't be the best place.
Ok, let's say you haven't got a regulator. You overpressurize your launcher - what do you do?
1)Use it anyway?
2)Try and discharge it quietly to avoid detection?
3)Discharge it quickly and reload as fast as possible?
Say you pick 1. Do you want to know what my brother's pneumatic will do at 10 bar? It will happily punch through rather more wood to begin with, create atomised coke with such an "explosive" force that you have to avoid being hit by the flying bits of can, and still have enough power to dent and rip the paint off heavy gauge steel.
2) Won't work. It'll still hiss, or bang. It'll be too loud.
3) Unsafe. Fire it into the ground, and you've got flying stones. Fire into the air in a random direction and it could still hit someone.
In short - use a regulator, or get lost. And, the launcher will probably be too inconvient for paintball whatever.

Novacastrian: How about use whatever the heck you can get your hands on?
frankrede: Well then I guess it won't matter when you decide to drink bleach because your out of kool-aid.
...I'm sorry, but that made my year.
