ok this may be a newbie question but i need some help.

ok i have around about 1m of spare 2" sch 40 pvc and was the part of the barrel for my combustion Spuddie(Will Be Posting Pics So) but i saw a spud gun on here that could shot AA batteries for about 300m and would just punch holes into sheet Steel ( :D:D:D) so i decided to make my own.

but i hit a dead spot. well two really. i don't know how to reduce and attach a ball valve for the 1/2" pipe form my 2" chamber. And also being in Australia i dont know where to get the right tyre valve for my chamber?!?!?!

Now the 2" chamber is only about 1ft long and the barrel is about a 1 1/2 ft long and i am going for the standard setup ( chamber = ball valve = U Bend = barrel.) now i know what to do but i have no idea on how to attach the ball valve to the chamber and the U bend to the ball valve.

now if anyone can help me please do cause i really want to get this one done. :D:D:D

ok just wanted to add something.

do i have to sleeve the barrel for extra strength as i see alot of you guys do?

also i just checked my barrel but i am not sure if its really sch 40 since it doesn't look to "thick"?

I know these are probably stupid questions to you guys but i want to get this one right before i make it so it doesnt just blow up in my face.

If its sch 40 it should be printed on the side of the PVC along with the pressure and temperature ratings.

Sch is about 1/4 thick...and most of the time DWV is only in four inches I haven't seen 2 inch stuff but it doesn't mean it doesn't exist...

Or just post a picture of the pipe and we can tell you for sure...

Can't help you with the fittings... other then keep looking :)

You don't have Sch40 in Aussie.

Read <A HREF="http://www.spudfiles.com/spud_wiki/inde ... C">this</a> and scroll down.

You wont get 300m with a ball valve, not even a sprinkler valve.

You would want the ball valve attached to the barrel and then the U bend, not the chamber. Otherwise you will have dead space.

No you don't need to sleeve it as long as it's pressure rated.

Small diameter barrels aren't necessarily thick, but read the topic I linked you to and you'll find out.

What size ball valve did you plan on?

With a 3/4" ball valve, and say 80psi, you'd probably only get about 150m.

for the schrader go to a tire and auto shop and as for one they generally give them to you for free, because they replace them after each service.
