Pneumatic marble/paintball gun.

So, I have made a prototype of this, and it was really horrible. I could only pull about 40psi with a hand pump (2.1l capacity). The hopper I made worked OK, 2d pictures don't work because I used a heat gun to bend the pipe away. So to load the chamber it was essentially "Rock'n'cock". Problem was that when I pulled the trigger, the marble was too big to fit through the o-rings I made, so It blocked the barrel and shot the hopper at my head. 50 marbles and a hopper at about 50fps. Pretty hairy. I have solved the o-rings, solved everything except the airflow. I was thinking of making a slightly modified prototype (as pictured) but what I am unsure about is the air supply. The main holding tank, or transfer tank if you will, is a 2l coke bottle, capable of holding 2l of air @ 120 psi. Any higher and it explodes. So if I hook up a 12v compressor to a car lighter, with a psi gauge, and assuming the pump is capable of delivering 11.5l per min at 160psi, then that means that I need to dry fire or live fire about 30 times a minute lest I blow my tank up. Either that or I turn the pump off. I've designed it to fire semi-auto, bursts or automatic provided that the delivery system can cope with it. I will troubleshoot the delivery system later, all I am unsure of is the air delivery. This will be only the second pneumatic anything I have ever made, so can you guys offer any advice?
Cheers,
Moses.
