Pneumatic Cannon Idea

Pneumatic Idea:

3" SCH 40 Chamber:
-Schrader Valve
-Quick Connect Valve (maybe, in addition to the Schrader)
- ~80 psi Relief Valve (to maintain continuous pressure without explosion)
-0-100 psi Pressure Gauge

1" Sprinkler Valve
-Modified w/ Blowgun Valve, electric solenoid sealed w/ epoxy putty)

1.5" SDR 21 Barrel
-Sleeved in 2" (BC ARMS)
-Golf Ball Bolt Assembly (BC ARMS)

Recently I found out that my friend has a large compressor that is able to fill my previous potato cannon
( http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/my-firs ... 12060.html ) in about 5 seconds.

So I was just wondering, would these^ specifications work for a semi-rapid-firing cannon (able to fire a golf ball every 5~10 seconds)?

Assuming I make it right, will this idea work (I'm still a semi-noob)?

Sounds like it would work fine.
If your looking for a fast rate of fire try to keep your chamber volume down so you can fill the chamber faster.
Mess around with ggdt so you can find out whats the smalled length for your chamber before performance would be affected negatively.
Good luck, sounds like a fun cannon!

Is the idea to keep the compressor constantly running while you fire? Because it may not work unless the pressure in the chamber drops low enough to reset the valve. Although on my cannon, I can usually get a second "small" shot out of it after I fire the main one, so there may be a chance...

Also, if you can be bothered please suggest proper barrel/chamber sizes.
I would like the barrel to be ~4-5 feet long.

And any other suggestions/ideas would be great!
Thanks.
