First, does anyone know what size pipe I would need to have so that it will slide over a 1.5" sch 40 barrel?
Two, does anyone know the best way to cut out the [__] and sideways L?
Three, Am I leaving anything out?

1) 1.5" couplers will slide on 1.5" pipe (obviously). Just dremel/file/or turn the lip out.
2) You can make the cuts with a router/dremel/rotozip, or you can drill a series of holes, and saw/file out the remaining material.
3) How would WE know?

Make sure that the pipe is flat against the back of the bolt, otherwise you will have a really bad leaking problem.

2" SCHD 80 works wonderfully. Depending on the manufacturer, you might have to sand out the 2" a bit for it to slide over nicely.
Hey if you get a working prototype of a bolt action cannon, could you share the design with me. I am basically trying to build a t-shirt launcher for our robotics teams to shoot at demonstrations (such as basketball games), and I would LOVE to make it bolt action so we could fire it without having to muzzle load it in front of everyone.
Thanks!
