My new copper coax with a custom wood stock
So here is my latest spud creation. At heart, she is a simple coaxal piston made from copper. I just prettied it up and made it more fun to shoot with a custom stock and scope.
Compared to my last copper cannon, this one seems kinda weak. I think that is due to the weight of the ammo that I am using for this one. My friend gave me a box of 308 caliber bullets and the fit very nicely in my 1/4 inch copper barrel, but they are a LOT heavier than the marbles that I shoot out of my other larger qev gun.
Anyways here are some of the specs...
Barrel: about 40 inches of 1/4 inch copper
Chamber: about 30 inches of 3/4 copper tubing. I blocked off some of the chamber with epoxy.
Valve: A piece of wooden rod with a piece of neoprene epoxied on
Stock: A chunk of 4x4 doug fur carved with nothing but a skill saw, jig saw, and sandpaper. then stained.
Pilot valve: Blowgun

I like to play blackjack. I'm not addicted to gambling, I'm addicted to sitting in a semi-circle.
Normally I would take it up to around 350 psi or so. But my fridge compressor took a poop and I need to build me another. For now I take it up to the 150 that my compressor allows. Or if I am feeling frisky, I can use my shock pump, but is just too much work...

Prettied up indeed shame about the "unnatural" length, it looks like a Mauser T-Gewehr I would have considered a trigger extension and making it a bullpup. It would look good with a bipod though

Very nicely done Jook.
Find some lighter rounds, get the pressure up and it'll be a beast!
Perhaps something like this?

Thanks guys. It is a shame about the unnatural length, but I imagine the power will be worth it when I get the power up. The stock was kinda an after thought, but I still like the way it looks.
Gippeto, did I read that right? 29 bucks for five of those balls?

this is very nice. I might build a larger version w/ a piston valve.

Very nice!
Good to see you went for the pitosn valve..
I imagine you could just cut off the extra bit of blowgun and just leave the trigger...?
The extra length is okay...I hate short guns anyway~!
Keep at it!!

Haha well crap. I didnt even notice that spelling mistake there. I just get typing and i lose track of where my fingers go.
Well what i meant to say was It DOES have PISTON valve.
Its hard to make something instead of the original if the instead project is the exact same as the original.
Yea im aware that sounds confusing and almost makes no sense.

Very nicely done! The natural look on the stock looks great. I'm jealous fore-sure! I love that look on a rifle. You haven't powered it up yet? Did I read that right? Tell us more please...
When I said "get the power up", I meant get my high pressure pump up and running. I have shot it at up to 150 psi so far. I had a fridge pump, but its broken. At 150 psi, This isnt too impressive, barely making it through a piece of 1/2 inch plywood. I plan to make videos when I get my next fridge compressor up and running (should be soon, I have an extra in my garage, just need to put the fittings on)
And about cutting off the end of the blowgun, that is a pretty good idea, I think I will do that too.
Thanks for all the kind words, makes me even happier I spent all those hours sanding..

One of the best attempts on a wood stock. ( peace bro )
You should make a how-to about it.
Should help a lot of guys here.
