Gday Spudders,

Well here it is, my latest little creation. From what I've posted in previous threads, there really isn't much to add here. I felt that I had to make a new thread for his gun because the crappy looking throw-together of yesterday just doesn't come close to comparing. I still have to add the mag but that's for another day.

By far one of my nicest for a while.

Thanks everyone.

Specs: Barrel: 50cm x 10mm Aluminum tube. (ID 7.5mm)
Chamber: 20cm x 1/2'' Galvanized pipe.
Valve: 1/2'' Bellpro Quick Exhaust valve.
Pilot : 1/4" Pop-off Valve trigger by a custom blowgun.
Ammo: .....Whatever fits :D.

Update! :D

I just added the new breech system. It's mostly air tight and works a charm. I'm going to add a nice mag and have true semi auto or just keep the breech open and have a fully auto feed.

Pics of it at the bottom.

Yeah a nice stock would match on pretty nicely :)

just a suggestion... you can build a turning bolt with a ball valve - just like people use them for breech loading

the idea is that you can add an air cylinder to turn it automatically... either a normal air cyliner or of of these http://allegro.pl/item618049637_mini_si ... festo.html -> when air is supplied they rotate a set amount of degrees

I don't think I am goona try this myself because I have problems with finging ballvalves big enough to fit a marble

That's a really good idea. If I can find a 3/8'' ball valve then I'd be set.

So the pop of valve or exhaust valve wont operate unless you pull the trigger. Is this right?
So it is a user operated pop off valve. Is it custom made or bought that way?
The barrel is held in by a compression fitting as well, yes. How do you stop the ammo from falling into the QEV?
Sorry for all the questions but I am trying to find out the best way to build one of these.

Not a problem Sparkie. There is a spring in the blowgun that pushes the trigger harder into the pop off so it won't go off at whatever the pop off is set to. If I take that spring out, the pop off will go by itself, allowing full auto. When my fingers are against the trigger, it allows for semi auto.

But yes, the way it is in the pictures is correct, it's a user operated pop off valve. I bought the blowgun from a hardware shop but I modded it myself.

Correct, the barrel is held in place by a compression fitting. It makes it a lot easier to chop and change parts in the future.

The barrel runs all the way into QEV so the ammo just rests against the piston. It makes for no dead space.

Hope that helps :)

Hey Mitch.

That's looking good!

Better paint the blowgun, "Black 'n Brass" is classic and bad a$$. 8)

Yeah I was thinking about painting the blowgun but I think it may make the grip on it a little sticky and eventually rub the paint off so I just thought I'd polish it up.

On a better note I just went and bought a 1/4'' all male T. To my absolute shock, it sleeves perfectly over my barrel and stays on there almost air tight! I'm going to attach it tomorrow and have a nice simple "drop and shoot" breech :D!!!

Thanks a lot for the nice reply mate :)

Nice looking gun, I like the trigger mechanisim. Time to get a mag working and go full auto

Nice work as I said before mate! Out of that all male brass T make an O ring breach. Thats what i did for my 6mm but it always doublefed and i never bothered to redo it. But it does work.

Solid yet trim gun there Mitch....very tough looking. Any idea the possibly operating pressures? I'm guessing at least 250 psi possible.

A minimalist shoulder stock and scope would look really great on there...

Thank you so much for the nice words everyone. Nice to know I can still make something worthy of peoples praise.

I just came up with the perfect breech. It's stupidly simple but it's cleanliness and practicality make for it 10 fold! I'm going to hammer it out tomorrow. Thanks a lot for the idea's Carlman :D

Cheers guys :D
