Dry Ice propelled gun

Hi all my friend am I are about to proceed in building a pneumatic cannon that will use dry ice to have a constant source of pressure. We will be using a galvanized steel tank and will hopefully be able to run it at about 10 bars. The firing mechanism will be a ball valve, what are your thoughts on this? Anything you would advise or not advise?
Thanks

nooooooo!!!!!! dry ice can genarate huge pressure not 10 bars more like 800 psi
dont bother to even attempt this gun compressed co2 is very dangorous.

Yes we are using 5mm thick galvanized steel tanks, a safety blowout valve, and a regulator to keep track of the pressure build up.

Work out how much is needed first and then use that, be careful, and get a better valve than a ball valve.

What kind of valve could I use that will take such pressures?

Normal piston valve, its only 10bar(i would use 20 instead).

But we are unable to get the parts to make a piston valve.

Well then what about a QEV there just premade piston valves that you can buy.

But it will be very hard for me to find one as I am in South Africa, so I think I will have to stick to ball valve as its available. A ball valve will take the pressure but I undestand that it will decrease the performance due to the slow release.

you could make it spring loaded were a spring pulls it open
BTW i think your the first african on spudfiles i might be wrong but welcome to spudfiles anyway
