High pressure steel piston valved rifle in progress.

Here it is. my new baby.

This is a high pressure gun that i am building/using to test my new fridge compressor. Does any one know what kind of pressure brass 1'' nipple will hold?? (my weakest fitting)

Is it a 1'' steel piston valve, wiht 3/4'' porting (Does this qualify as a QEV??)
The chamber is small... but more than sufficient, as the gun shoots .25 cal steel bullets.
THIS GUN STILL NEEDS A NAME! help me name it?

Still to do:
(1) Name the cannon
(2) Finish the stock :-)
(3) Build breech/ barrel system.
(4) Bind out how high my fridge compressor will go :-)
(5)Shoot some stuff
(6)Take damage pics/video

Here is a few photos, as well an early test fire video:

Cannon with a small barrel

This mighty high strength seal-less piston! very very very light.
The only bumper is a spring. it works amazingly

Video of 150psi test shot.... my ears are still ringing.

Hope you like it... ill keep you all updated :-)

QEV refers to commercial valves only. (At least on this forum. They tend to use it more loosely on the French forum.)

The chamber in under the Tee. it is very small... due to the fact that i am using a .25'' diameter barrel, and need to keep a good C to B ratio

What is wrong woth ur piston valve? i can probably help
toogers wrote:Pretty nice. A good name? The s.c.h.- small copper handgun.
This gun does not have a single copper piece on it. lol
Not to mention the final barrel is going to be close to 4ft... so its not a hang gun either. ahha nice try though.

more lik.... S.S.R lol... jk
(smal steel rifle).... not what i want to name it..

Oh, and by the way.... it will already throw a bouncy ball (1") faster than my other gun, which was clocked at just under 1200fps.... woot.

lol sorry to break it to you but your not shooting over the speed of sound (1125fps) so either you did the math wrong with your home made crony or something else went wrong.

Please don't claim these absurd figures here with no GGDT file, no (accurate) chronograph figure and even no audacity file. This doesn't have the makings to propel a bouncy ball above the speed of sound.

I'd also like to inquire how you fit a 1" bouncy ball inside a 1/4" bore gun.

it looks quite good...
just under 1200fps
hmmm... ok let's forget that you've mentioned that

@Major Collins
if you can't get it to work right you can buy a QEV

Check out bellpro. I got mine from there. Buy a slightly larger one than you need as the porting tends to be on the small side.

Was this the site you went to?

Pneumatic stuff tends to be a little pricey, watching ebay for a while is a good idea.
