btw jsr no feet

3 days ago i went to the site http://www.bellpro.net and ordered a 1/2 QEV and Slide valve.
knowing the delivery system in australia i didn't get my hopes up (they said it will arrive in 3 days). i waited 3 days and though "what the hell"
i went to the shops and i passed the post office and went in :D

the lady lifted up a large envelope. all hope lost thinking it would be something else i opened the envelope and there was a box that fit perfectly in my hand. :p

i opened it up and there they were, the qev and slide valve were neatly pack.

i raced home, assembled every thing.

i used it once at 7 psi it yapped releasing a small amount of air.
raising the psi the yapping became louder and louder.
it reached 6 bar i slid the valve back and BARK, i was shocked at the efficiency.
the only thing i could complain about that the connecter where the barrel goes its a 10mm instead of a 1/2" :X

build consists of:
1/2 qev
1/2 slidevalve
1/2 conector
1/2 to 1/4nipple
female quick connect
1/2 to 3/4 nipple
3/4 bsp pipe ( if i swapped to a longer would it be stronger?)
3/4 end cap

air goes in

AIR COMES OUT

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

question:
q1 should i use a 10mm bore or a 8/9 mm bore for a barrel?
i think i should use the 8/9 bore i have screws that fit perfectly.

q2 can the qev go to 20 bar if so how much higher?

q3 any one have a name?

vid :without reservoir

first few shots at 7-6 bar then 5-0 bar with reservoir so it wasn't as strong.

very satisfied with bellpro

A QEV+slide valve combo is indeed a very easy way to create a semi-auto valve mechanism. All you need now is a reliable loading mechanism.

yeah and he could combine the trigger with the loading mech

yeah im trying to work that out
if you look at the qev's camber that'll be the handle

im trying to work out a trigger mech
im thinking of using a "pre loaded" spring and releasing it with a trigger instead of the spring always pushing the trigger because i don't think i can pull the trigger fast enough :D

oh and the qev has serrated egdes and it cut me like a papper cut  typical  does any one else get micro cuts on their hand from threads?

I've also got a 1/2" slide valve connected to a 1/2" QEV, but of the european variety. I've taken the slide valve to 40 bar but it starts to have trouble at about 20, hard to actuate and quite a lot af air leaks out when you move it forward to refill your chamber, this is the main reason i've given up on this particular combo for now. Use a huge reservoir and keep the pressure down and it should work a treat.

As far as I know, 4/8 equals 1/2, unless I don't understand something here.

i ment 3/8 :D lol soz i went out and got the nipple 10mm to 1/2" heehe nice job on the double post XD iv done it before when i was capped

and yeah im going to get a metal canister to be the reservoir a 2L thing iv also found if i dont slide the valve fast enough air leaks out

iv shot it a couple of times and it strong and accurate, i was shooting 7 m ish and there was a 60 cm spread its cos when i pull the slide valve back i move the whole gun i need a trigger and a scope.

it shot a screw right through a tin can 3 times in a row with a small reservoir

Or one that actuates with the pressure, like a blowforward bolt.

oh and some damage pics

:) i have a mini compressor so it takes 1-2 min to charge it

A name? Well as long as you have to load the ammo manually you can leave out the word "semi"
If you are not planning to make it auto-loading, at least give it a bolt-action breech load.

This is the sort of thing that I appreciate seeing. Very nice setup. Simplicity is your friend.
