Hello there, Pneumatic Cannon Showcase. It has been a VERY long time since I've submitted anything here.
For those who have been following the
Nerf Dart Gun Challenge, you're probably familiar with the project I've been working on. For those who haven't, here it is:
RSP-Skeleton
The mechanism that ejects the shells is not my own. I first saw it on here a very long time ago and I've since forgotten who it was that posted it, but credit goes to him. Outside of that and the Constant Force Spring used in the magazine (first shown to me by btrettel) the entire gun is my own creation. I've been working for two years to come up with a reliable Nerf gun. This exact variant, from design to completion, took around two months.
Still a few things left to refine but the mechanism works well. I'll post more videos of actual firing tomorrow once I've made some darts.
Links have been removed, sorry.

That... Looks very cool! It'd be awesome if you could integrate a 12gram changer into the stock so the air is hidden...

In this case their main function is to help with feeding. The darts are squishy so the won't feed that well by themselves *I'm guessing*...

It's also for a coolness factor, I'm sure. Not many people here can claim to having a successful cartridge loading and ejection system.
I have to say though, I'm thoroughly impressed with the compact nature of this design. There was definitely a lot of consideration when building this, and I appreciate that.
Do you have any plans to set this into a case, or a more solid stock of sorts?

Here's a picture with a smaller magazine (sans spring and follower) attached. This one holds ten shots, more than enough for me.
Right now I'm just fine tuning everything and so far it's working reliably. I still haven't made any good quality Nerf darts to shoot yet but I have a better idea in mind for ammo since I know you guys aren't all that interested in shooting little pieces of foam... More on that later.

That is some impressive work. I like the magazine spring system. Could you also post a picture of the magazine lips?
