I was wondering how would you make the piston for the piston valve? Like is there like a part I can find at like a hardware store?

Well I was thinking about making a chamber sealing tee valve. And the size. I don't want it to be really big just something small that won't be really expensive.Marffy wrote:What kind of piston valve do you wanna make? how big do you wanna make it?
I did what jrrdw told me and thought about using just a end cap with a hole in the middle.

Don't start with a chamber sealer, do a barrel sealer first, they are MUCH easier to make. Look around in the showcase and you can find many examples, my Superna for example.

In my Mouse Musket thread, see my sig, I show how to build a small piston on a drill press using cutting board plastic. The thread covers a coaxial design and not a valve in a T, but the piston technique can be used in a T for smaller pistons. The largest I made this way is 2 inch.
Scroll down the page to my second post that covers making a replacement piston to fit this cannon.

If I were you, I would go with a coaxial design, they are very simple to make and require the least parts of any piston valve.

3/4" Oak dowel and 2 "O" rings and a 1/2" faucet washer gets me 1,000 fps at 600 psi in the Trom-Boyn.someguy314 wrote:cool will do
That should be easy enough for you and all parts are store bought.

Heres a 2 inch one, might be a bit larger than what you want but it could be scaled down
