Help with fridge compressor

I just took apart an old fridge to use the compressor for an air compressor. The fridge does not have a capacitor, so i cannot follow similar threads on wiring. I was able to run the compressor in the fridge however cannot get it to run now its been taken out. I cut the power cord leading from the wiring harness to the thermostat and now have 4 wires however I do not know which ones to connect in order for the fridge compressor to run. I have tried wiring in the old thermostat however it still does not work, I think it may be because the temperature sensor has also been cut. I have attached photos so if anyone could shed some light as to what wires to connect it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the link, I have however already read that and unfortunately the symbols are different on my thermister. I have C, S & M listed on the rear of my thermister and S, N, L & T listed on the front. Any ideas?

Have you tried looking up the manufacturer's wiring diagram?

Everything is almost ready. The cable that was connected to the thermostat has 4 wires:
blue - neutral
brown - line (the two are for the light)
orange - this one activates the fridge - when you connect it with line it should start the compressor. You need an ON/OFF switch between
orange and brown
green - ground

Thanks! Its working. For some reason attaching those same wires and flicking the power point on tripped the circuit breaker. Wired a switch in and its good to go. 300psi and climbing.

Well it tripped the overload in the powerboard. Tried every combination of bridging wires and some tripped the overload as expected and others did nothing. Strange.

Well it seems that you shorted line with neutral. Does this still happen?? It shouldn't at all.

No, not having issue with it now the switch is in. Strange because its switching the same wires I physically joined.

Sounds like it's one of those
magic switches.
