Diaphragms

hey im looking for a good material to make a diaphragm (for my pneumatic gun) out of, preferably cheap but at this point, whatever works the best.... thanks :)

Well you could buy one in the irrigation section of home depot. A sprincler valve is like 11 dollars and they sell diaphragms from sprinkler valves alone so they must cost like 3 dollars. Then you can cut it and shape it to your comfort. :P

Pretty much any rubber will work. I would start by checking your local hardware/ranch stores (Lowe's, Home Depot, Ace, True Value, Etc.) if that fails get some neoprene from McMaster.

Not EVERY rubber will work. I attempted, recently, a small little coaxial diaphragm valve with the rubber from the inside of a soccer ball. It was too bumpy on the inside, and therefore wouldn't seal right. I'm pretty sure with a compressor or a CO<sub>2</sub> inflator, I could have shocked it into sealing, but it's a pretty crappy diaphragm material overall.
