2" piston cannon

Here's my new beast of a cannon. it uses a 3" chamber and a 2" barrell. I am planning on making more barrels for it. probably a tennis ball barrel too.

The barrel goes throught the 3" tee and ends in the piece of 3" pipe holding the adaptor to the tee. Its piston made out of hot glue and a piece of thick rubber i found at osh. It is actuated by a 1" modified orbits watermaster.

I know that the gauge isn't exactly safe since it is threaded into the pipe and not a coupler. I am in the process of fixing that.

Very nice! I love the look of piston-valve cannons! Great job!

Ahhh the satisfaction of knowing that you have created your own working valve is just grand. It's a clean setup and I like it. How well does the piston seal the barrel? I am currently in the process of making a 2'' piston cannon myself and plan on making interchangable (sp) barrels and chambers. Nice cannon though... any plans for a paint job?

Thanks alot guys. I am very proud that I made my own valve.
It was a pian in the ass to get the piston to seal. The hard part was finding the right seal. I used a rubber pipe cap, the kind that are made to be pipe clamped over a the end of an open pipe. I just fot the 3" one and cut the flat center out of it. I dont know about painting it yet. I'll probably get around to it eventually.

Looks good! Put up some damage pics so we can see how it performs.

cool beans man, i bet it bails the air out nicely.

and btw, ur guage is just fine, leave it. u could add a small street elbow so that the guage is actually visible though

Your pilot hose is too long, shorten it and you'll get much better performance.

im going to add a pilot hose on my piston, does it decrease performance by much?

only 1 thing you could have changed, the fill valve is going through a single layer of pvc, not 2, otherwise great gun
