Hello there,

You may have seen my last topic in this forum, about the pneumatic bomb, well, this idea will be allot safer.

I know the basic ideas of making these guns, as there are many great websites out there to teach us how to make these, but what I need to know, is the correct items to use.

I have a budget of $50 New Zealand Dollars, Give or take 25 Pounds... But I can't put a price on my life, and that is why I want cheap, but top shelf piping and equipment.

My question/your help:

1. What is the name of pressurisable PVC piping, like, where could I get it (Hardware store, plumbing store, sports store etc).

2. Reccomended trigger setup

3. Your ideas on this: To be extra safe, I will be customising an old fire extinguisher, this will be the place that holds the air, ready to be shot out (I think its the combustion chamber).

4. Reccomended psi for shooting tennis balls no further than 100 metres / 300 ft.

Thankyou very much.

Erm...

I already stated that I have... can you please research your brain to find the file "read.my.topic.properly.before.posting.please.exe"

Please, I really don't want to blow myself up.

Edit: Omg... spelling error

1. I don't know the stores in New Zealand, but if it has a pressure rating on it then it's safe.

2. It's all about personal preferrence.

3.Not the combustion, but the pressure chamber where the air is stored. That should be safe, since most

4. That's just a matter of trial and error.

In new zealand its called PN18 pipe.
Reccomended trigger setup
Make a basic modded sprinkler valve gun.
Reccomended psi for shooting tennis balls no further than 100 metres / 300 ft
It depends on the valve, the pressure, the size of the chamber, the lenght of the barrel, ECT.
EDIT: Bloody hell, ive gotta type faster.

You're worried about your safety, yet you made a pneumatic bomb.

And, Why would you have a combustion chamber on a pneumatic? Sounds like you need to do more research. Do you even know how to modify a fire extinguisher, how to tap fittings an adapt it to PVC?

If all else fails, which in your case it looks promising, build one out of copper pipe.

Ok go to the link for spud wiki. That sould answer the easy questions.
1. Look for sch.40 with NSF-PW on it. Also use only NSF-PW fittings for your gun
2. Use a sprinkler Valve with a blowgun. TO learn how to do this look in the how to section of the forums for that info.
3. The fire thingy wont explode because its pressure rated. If you do find a hardware store take the fire thing with you to see if any treaded fitting will fit the treads on it.

Damn is was beat by like four people :o

<asshole>
Prof, they don't have SCH40 in New Zealand. Maybe you should do some research?

BTW, "treads" are for tires, you mean threads.

</asshole>

Now that I'm done being a prick, I would also recommend a modded sprinkler.

P.S. Prof, don't take me seriously, i'm only ribbing on ya.

EDIT: Dammit! By the time I post, 3 people already have!
