Well here is my first over under pneumatic cannon wich i have been working on for a few weeks now and i must say that i am very pleased with it and would like to share it with the rest of you and i would like your opianians(spelling :? ) on it and any suggestions you have.

Specs:
54" long 1/2" wide barrel
28" long 2" wide chamber
1/2" ball valve
0-100 psi pressure guage

GGDT results (7gm projectile at 100 psi.)
-With Ball Valve-
FPS: 302
Muzzle Energy: 21.9 foot pounds
Energy Eff: 0.7%
Pressure Drop: 6.8 Psi
Travel Time: 39.2 Ms
Max Distance (at 35 deg. angle.): 768 Ft. (.14 mile(s).)

GGDT results (7gm projectile at 100 psi.)
-With 1" Modded sprinkler valve-
FPS: 504
Muzzle Energy: 61 foot punds
Energy Eff: 1.9%
Pressure Drop: 15.3 Psi
Travel Time: 19 ms
Max Distance (at 31 deg. angle.): 1078 Ft. (.2 mile(s).)

Wow sprinkler valve DRASTICLY improved the performance im gonna have to get one!!


if someone wouyld ggdt it with a 45 gram projectile at 125 psi for me i would thank them ever so kindly lol.

This thing is amazing its so powerful it just it is just awsome for my first pneumatic and shoots a 1/2" ball erring 1 1/2" deep into a tree! amazing i was stuned but i have no idea on the fps so i need someone to GGDT it for me beingsm i dont have any clue how to.

well here the cheapest sprinkler valve is 28$ id rather take the chance of stealing it then paying that god awful price (Sarcasm i wouyld never steal.) besides im good with a ball valve for now.

Yeh but seriously man I'm sure the ball valve works fine and all but the performance in a sprinkler valve is realli that much better - I've experimented with both :wink:

i like metal makes me feel safer i would have made the chamber metal but i couldnt find a big enough diameter pipe lol.

Added GGDT results after a figured how to work it a little and with some help from blb man the sprinkler improved performace almost 2X lol im going to get one soon and mod it.

Actually, You may want to consider getting one of my 1" porting Stinger Valves from my site. They are more than twice as powerful than any sprinkler valve and look a hell of a lot nicer.

I hate the prices of sprinklers. $42 aussie dollars for the crap brand and $60 for the best. Then again I only had $7 and a bad day. But yeah sprinkler valve would rock for it.

For that long barrel the upgrade to sprinkler would cost more than it is worth. In my opinion brass ball valves are the best things ever. Lube it with white lithium grease to make it open ultra fast.

Best things ever lol I would rather a 32inch porting chamber sealing piston valve.
It's all a bunch of tree huggin' hippie crap!
