This is my prototype for remote propane injection. I've been toying around with the idea for the past few days, and I think a Q.E.V. is the best valve I can find for this purpose, because it has minimal cylinder side leak to the pilot volume after firing.
The ball valve is a three way ball valve for filling and exhausting the Q.E.V., and the cylinder side of the Q.E.V. is mounted to the meter pipe. The male Q.D. is what hooks up to the gun.
A few tests will tell if this is an accurate way of metering fuel remotely or not.

This is just a prototype. The finished design will have the Q.E.V. and meter pipe mounted on the cannon, with the three-way mounted on the control panel, with a hose going to the cannon.

I don't view it as pointless... First of all it's a cool evolution of Gort's one-touch propane meter, and second, it opens the doors towards a completely remotely fired cannon... if you worked out a magazine feed system, you could load a projectile, inject propane, mix, fire, vent, repeat completely remotely.
I once thought about designing a device to fire "blanks" (no projectile) to scare raccoons away from my fruit trees. This would be awesome for that purpose.

Why not pilot it with a solenoid so you could just run wires, instead of a hose, to the cannon? Or even use a wireless electronic system...

Ah, remote system is easy! You need an fm RC plane reciever, a remote, and some high torque servos. (Like a hi-tech super torque) And of course a battery. Use a servo to activate a sparker, a servo to activate a fill valve system, and a servo to activate the vent system. (I am thinking it simultaniously switches on the fan, and opens the vent.) Of course, with servos, as soon as you let the control go, it snaps back into the original place. You can even make the cannon rotate with a servo depending on the torque level, how big it is, and how many axises (axi?) your controller has.
