This is my first and only mini (but hopefully not last). After several months of random upgrades I decided to register to this site and post it. The mini is partially based on the mini-spud, with several differences. As you can see it has iron (copper) sights, which are actually quite accurate. I use them to hit a tin can up to about 10-15 meters away. I estimate it's range to be about 30-50 meters with propane, depending on several variables. The barrel is 50 cal. (aka 1/2 inch copper pipe) and is 10 inches in length. The combustion chamber is about 9" long and 3/4" copper pipe. It uses a BBQ ignitor and has a copper trigger gaurd and wooden handle. Any questions or comments are most welcome.

That's nice... I really like the picture going down the sights looks kind of like an MP-40's.... I'd be nerveous to use a propane powered one because If I got something with to much recoil in it I'd be likely to have the hose clamps break and have it fly back and hit me with my luck....

Something off your topic: I was cutting golf balls and holding then in my hands using a hack saw (w\ a wood-cutting blade) to but them.... and I cut myself with, but not with the saw, but with the screwdriver trying to pry it off :D

I think it would be really cool if you used some Black Matte Enamel paint on the copper and the grip and it'd look even better... I really like the looks of it...

I'd make one if copper wasn't soo high... the European countrys are buying all of ours so it's soooo expensive... No. 1 grade scrap (scrap without any solder on it) is like $5 a pound... for SCRAP!

It costs just more that pvc in South Africa (that is where I live) but I can't buy allot of materials anyway.

Yeah I was fortunate enough that almost all the materials were down my basement. I also found copper pipe in the trash where they were rebuilding a house.

Another thing, as you can see the barrel is removable, i tried other lenghts to see how they performed, anything shorter was simply just louder and less accurate, anything much longer was almost silent but less powerful.

The pipe was all 1/2", I didn't have any pipes smaller, or a coupling for anything larger, the sizes i tried were 4", 6", 10" (current) and 16" (WAY to big lol  )

Interestingly enough I had an idea that I got from paintball guns to make a stirational patern partway down the barrel, using drilled holes at precise intervals, to give it spin, unfortunatly all it did was decrease the power and made a wierd but cool sound.

*edit*

Thanx, Major, lol

awesome gun. i made one almost exactly like that once but i scrapped it because it wouldnt fire no matter what i tried. how did you insulate the wires to keep the electricity from just going through the copper?

Oh yeah that's a good question 8) , I drilled a hole in the bottom of the pipe so the wire would fit exactly into it, the insulated part that is. In the beginning I had some major leakage problem, i eventually fixed that by hot gluing the base of the wire and then wrapping that tightly with the black electrical tape you see. Another wire is just taped to the side, so the spark jumps from the wire inside to the wall of the pipe, it's very reliable unless the wire somehow gets bent.

You should be getting shocked but because you are gripping the handle tight enough to hold the gun, you don't feel it.

Interestingly enough i can only get it to shock me if i touch the wire directly or the sparker...which is hard to do, and if i were getting shocked, believe me, i'd know it, even with a BBQ ignitor i jerk me hand back pretty fast if it does shock me, lol.

My neighbors a plumber so I mooch off of him, he has some copper that I can propably get and I might make one...

I really want to make a 2'' NSF-PW to a 3/4" CPVC Barrel to make a small paintball gun... It wouldn't be combustion though...

The sights kinda look like this MP40
