My friend is the one really into combustion cannons, so I said "Hey why not give it a shot." I kind of sprang on the idea while I was in the middle of Ace Hardware looking for things for a coax design. They didn't have the right reducer so I'm like hell with it and bought some PVC. This store worker was REAALLLLYYY nice. I told him that I was making a combustion spud gun and he even glued all of the fittings for me. I was really glad and he even gave me a $5 discount. Talk about annoying/nice store workers, lol.

Nuff' said, here are the specs and pics follow.

Parts listed from back of gun to the muzzle.
2" Threaded Plug, 1'x2" PVC sch40, 2" Coupler, 2"x1" Reducer, 4'x1" PVC sch40.

Not bad for a quick and dirty spudder. Have you shot it yet? Fuel? Ammo?

Looks like your C:B ratio is roughly 1.2:1...in a good zone.

Resize the pics before you upload them. You'll need a basic photo editor to get the job done. I use an old copy of Paint Shop Pro.

Yeah, I went to Hot Topic today and got that. They only had the new masks in x small so unless I wanted to look like a whore then I would have got it.

Thanks starman...I have photoshop and I'll see what I can do.

BUMP

Hey one question...How can I get the threaded cap to seal better? I know that tightening it will obviously make it a better seal, but then it will become a bitch to unscrew. So anybody have any ideas? :?:

You could always replace the cap with a ball valve back there. Open to air out and fuel up, close it to shoot....pretty common feature with advanced combustions.

I use a 1" pvc ball valve, works great.

Do you think lubing up the threads will work?

Sure to some degree. I use teflon tape and usually helps a lot. Be sure your threads are clear of pvc flashing...use a small 3 sided file if you need to clean them.
