Hello everyone, i was wondering if there is any other way to wire up a disposable camera flash to a potato cannon without using a automobile igniton coil. Not by using steel wool, or touching the two wires together physically. I want to be able to jump the gap without using an ignition coil is this possible?

Like Carlman said, read the wiki.

You can try a "Triggered spark gap" (it's on the wiki page). That setup is also called a trigatron.

Not the most reliable method but it does work.
