After much debate we fired up the drill press and put together a compact metering device prototype. It mounts nicely with our Concoa regulators and user can choose length of metering tube. Consists of 3 machined parts so cost will be budget minded. Turn knob towards tank port to fill, then turn away to meter.
Specs.
1/8" NPT inlet
3/4" NPT metering port
1/4" dump port

Is that a three-way valve?
Yep, keeping it simple.kjjohn wrote:Is that a three-way valve?

sorry for asking... but don't you think that an off-the shelf 3 way ball valve would be cheaper ?

Maybe... How much do they go for? Also, we are trying to avoid the "Home Depot" look. The twin ball valve metering devices I've built in the past cost me $60.POLAND_SPUD wrote:sorry for asking... but don't you think that an off-the shelf 3 way ball valve would be cheaper ?

certainly, I understand that the guns look cooler thx to machined parts... but the question is whether it's worth it or notwe are trying to avoid the "Home Depot" look
here is what I found with google... I suppose that that's more less a reasonable price for them... it's a good idea to spend some time to find the best offers as sometimes the difference in price between different suppliers can be as high as 30-50% (no it's not a joke)

I dont know how common this is but I got these 3 for $13, and I have already tested them out for one touch metering. That said, I really like the looks of your machined parts.
