DWV= drainage, waste, vent. Not rated for pressure.

As long as it isn't cellular-core you should be ok using dwv for a combustion(In all probability it isn't. Not sure about your chamber pipe though).

As has been said countless times, sch40 is a wall thickness, not a pressure rating. If you want to use pvc in a pneumatic it should have"nsf-pw" printed on the fitting or pipe(It indicates use in pressurized water systems).

Cellular Core ABS is great for traditional combustions. See my sig for a link to an ABS test.

I do agree that PVC DWV should not be used. It's fragile.

I thought we came to the conclusion that DWV is fine for advanced combustions. Now, lets take the DWV, ABS, XZY argument somewhere else.

Great gun for a second, It may need some cleaning up. Once you get your electronic igniter you can mount that plus your fan circuit in a nice looking project box.

Do you get consistent results with that meter?

Welcome to Spudfiles
I love lamp

yea i put about 40 psi in it turn on the fan and it shoots a potato about 400 yards everytime and im just waiting for my electric ignition to get here to finish evrything up i have a box to mount all my switches in i hate the push button ignitors they always give me problems and as far as my ignition being drilled into my chamber wall every gun ive made has been like that and its never been a problem

My DWV cannon has a fill through the side in a single layer and it has shown no signs of failure. My Mouse Musket fills through a single layer. Overall I have not seen much evidence showing many failures due to the placement of small holes in pipe. Joints, end caps, and fatigue failure of components appears to be more common.

this gun is less than a week old and ive shot it about 50 times and there's no signs of failure anywhere on some of my past guns which were none propane there would always be burn marks next to my ignitor which i didnt like so know i put some seal all around which can withstand temps up to 180 and its seems to work pretty gun i didnt a test fire today with a 6 ft wire on my ignitor and about 60 psi of propane and i shoot a apple about 700 yards :D it was pretty crazy im in the prosses of making another one out of stronger pipe my goal is to be able to shoot 1000 yards which is the lenght of my corn fieald behind my house

Radio Shack carries some project boxes. If you don't have one nearby, or they don't carry them, Mouser has them.

As far as reaching the far end of the corn field, good luck. You will need good sectional density and an aerodynamic projectile to reach that far.

Project boxes are on this page. They call them enclosures. Project box is a nickname.
