Not all 16 year olds build crappy cannons
Hey spudfiles my first post is finally here, and im here to prove that not all teenagers are idiots, even though we may occasionally act like it (shocking i know). But enough about teenager and their crazy antics because i am here to talk SPUDGUNS! This is my 5th gun but my first combustion, and i thought "why not do it right the first time?" so i went all out!! here are some specs and features on the gun
-Chamber is 20"x4" Sch 40 pressure rated PVC
-60 in tennis ball barrel (which gives me a .8:1 C:B ratio )
-Pressure regulated metered propane (runs at 34 psi for a 4.2% mix)
- used 3/4" steel pipe and 3/4" ball valves to avoid using reducers)
-80mm brushless comp fan (runs on 18v)
-100,000v stun gun dual spark ignition
-and my favorite part! the custom aluminium box to house stun gun and batteries
It shoots about 400+ yard with a weighted tennis ball i haven't done any damage vids yet should I?
thanks for all your help it couldn't have happened without you guys!!
Sincerely CDHraider

Nice work... for a teenager
Seriously, it's always a pleasure to see the work of those who have done their research and don't hide behind their age/bankrupcy as an excuse for lack of imagination.

Looks good. Clean build, and not a primer stain to be seen. I won't even suggest you paint it because of that fact.
You might want to switch your cleanout cap with a large ball valve for venting after each shot. Clean out caps can get stuck fairly easily when gunk gets in the threads. You already have the chamber fan, so you could just open the valve and turn the fan on.
Still, looks great though. I started building these things when I was 16, and I also was determined to get it right. Of course I was more of the stupid variety of teenagers and I cared more about volume and recoil than efficiency or innovation.

I built this at 14. Im 15 now. Some teens just have their heads on straighter than others. My pants dont hang below my ass either and i wear my hats straight. Country till the day i die!
I agree. 'Cept I'm a metalhead, which shouldn't be surprising, being that physics-related activities seem to attract a disproportionate amount of us.metalmeltr wrote:Some teens just have their heads on straighter than others. My pants dont hang below my ass either and i wear my hats straight.
Honestly though, that's an amazing advanced combustion.

Thats a well thought out advanced combustion you got there, I think as you become a little more familiar with more of the members here you'll see that difference in age doesn't directly correspond with level of craftsmanship. I feel like maybe 30% of the active members are 18 or younger

I think that the last 5 posts on this thread including mine are all people in high school. I started building when I was 14. Matter of fact... I still am!
Nice combustion you got there. I bet its pretty powerful and fun to shoot.

Yea im not alone lol... I'm 13 started building when I was 11, Any way nice advanced combustion, try making the barrel longer though. I'm more of a pneumatics guy but its guns like these that make me want to start building more combustions.
