So technical this discussion is - Yoda

I'm with Yoda on that. Hey Weeman, in answer to your original question. Porpane, because hairspray really really really sucks. I've used spray bottle with gasoline and / or alcohol for spraying a nice fine mist. Even better when you have a chamber fan to mix it all up. I couldn't notice a difference between the two. (gasoline / alcohol)

Man I think all you guys are going way overboard with this whole gasoline versus ethanol versus propane. geez. and who would be dumb enough to use gasoline in a pcv/asb type spud gun anyway. I personally would only use gasoline in a metal gun. That also gets into the whole mixed fuel catergory (ie oxy-acetylene) which should never be used in a plastic gun. That's just begging to lose a limb, digit, or life. Anyway back to the poll question. Definatley propane. Better/cleaner burning that hairspray, and there is no residue (ie sticky crud) to gum up your threads if you are still stuck on the spray and pray metheod of spudgunning. You should really think of upgrading to a metered propane injection and a high voltage ignition system.
Yea, that's definitely going to get you at least a tazer.

Care to back that statement up with some facts and/or reasons?

1. Gasoline won't harm PVC.
2. Gasoline won't produce any more pressure than propane so it won't overstress the gun.
3. Gasoline is no more likely to DDT than any other hydrocarbon fuel.
4. Gasoline is a lot cheaper than any other fuel.

I agree that gasoline is a dumb fuel, but only because it is a PITA to meter acurately. Not because of any safety issues (other than accidently igniting your gallon can of gas.)

EDIT: speeling
