wow that seems like such a lot of work for one spark. Me personally I use a 1.5v powered BBQ ignitor that produces 12KV and gives me stock 2 spark gaps.

it is part # V and it cost 30 bucks and comes with everything you need to install 2 sparck gaps with the exception of the 4 machine screws you need.
Yea, that's definitely going to get you at least a tazer.

Thats got a nice crack to it. Have you expermented with the gap? The way it works with spark plugs in engines is, the smaller the gap, the hotter the spark. But on the other hand, not as much arc/spark/fire/spike what ever you know it as.

I voted good. One more question, what are you going to use for eletrodes?

well this is going to be a fireowrk detiantor. In that vid I had steel woll in the middle of the gaps which created the huge spark. When I connect the wires It makes a much bigger spark then a BBQ ignitor, and its not like a stun gun arch. So it is kinda in between.

Very Nice 8)

I'm curious though, did you end up building the circuit yourself? What schematic did you use?

The green lght one is detinator on/off and the red light one is capacitor charging. I can turn them off becuase once the capacitor is charged, and I fire it the charge is coming directly out of the capcitor, so it isn't required to be on, unless I want it to be.
Very Nice

I didnt build the circuit, I just soldered the switch wires, led wires, battery wires, and capacitor charge out wires onto the board, applyed plenty of hot glue on each solder, and connected componets which were already mounted on the face of the project box. O ya and I hot glue the battery pack the the bottom of the inside of the project box.

VERY clean looking. Nice job.

Did you use a small coil in there, or a relay, or is that a 3-point spark gap?

Peace,
Pete Zaria.
