yea... i managed to get some of it by accident and im pretty pissed off. i saw a 2 1/2 foot section of 3" PVC and a another right above to it that was 5 foot. i picked up the short piece and it read "nfs-pw 320psi", so i grabbed the 5 foot section assuming it was the same stuff. but when i got it home i realized that it had "not for pressure" stamped right on it and realized i just bought some cell core crap.

but on to the real reason i posted, on a scale of 1 to 10 how dangerous (or retarded which ever you prefer) would it be to use this pipe on an advanced metered propane mortar (max fire rate of one shot every 5 seconds)???

*** 1 being completely safe, 10 being incredibly dangerous becuase it will blow up on the first shot

OMGzorz that's like a eleven!!!1!1one!1

But really, I'd give it about a 5 normally, but for an advanced combustion probably a 6.5 or 7 since there'll be more pressure. One shot every five seconds woudl actually be putting it through it's paces pretty good, so always be on the lookout for signs of stress, and try to fire it remotely.

So your going to sacrifice safety for convenience?
Sounds like a bad decision to me.

Ok you say that it's not pressure rated pvc, but you also say cell core, which is abs. I use cell core abs on my advanced propane combustions. but if it is actually non pressure rated pvc dont use it. like benstern said you would be sacrificing safety over convenience
Yea, that's definitely going to get you at least a tazer.

yea now im going to return it. if it would have been like a 3 or below i probably would have just used it anyway. it is cell core and it is PVC the core is some dense foam and its coated on both sides with a 1/16 thick layer of PVC. you can clearly tell the difference when compared to a piece of normal PVC. if it was ABS i would have used it no matter what becuase that stuff just tears, and doesn't shoot razor sharp fragments off when it fails (like PVC would).

Ah BigGrib you can have cell core PVC too, doesn't mean it's ABS.

I'm sure Pete only uses DWV ABS, not necesarrily cell core.

But yeah I agree, 3" pistons are a b|tch.

Ah okay, I stand corrected.

Haha it does too, I was trying to reply to 3 things and then SF wanted me to log on again for some reason, then I was going back and forth, and just remembered you said that.

But they are a b|tch. :)
