new gun, where can i get flint?
built my first two guns this weekend. 1st was 2 ft of 3 in combustion chamber to 4 ft of 1.5 in barrel. 2nd was 4 ft of 4 in combustion chamber to 4 ft of 2 in barrel. unfortunately, i did not place the lantern lighter in the end cap on the first gun so every time i fueled it the right guard would be sprayed directly onto the flint resulting in no spark. i used up the whole thing of flint in only a few shots because i would sit there and twist it which would grind down the flint but it would not spark because it was sticky. fixed that with the second gun but im just wondering where i can get more flint? i dont want to have to buy more lanter lighters every time i need flint. i chose a lantern lighter because i read that bbq lighters are not reliable and you have to replace them fairly quickly. i also didn't want to spend a lot on an electric lighter since this was my first gun. thanks
you can get them at some hardware stores and almost all camping/sporting good stores. they are cheap. i got 10 for a dollar.

Did you install the flint sparker in the cleanout cap of the second gun?
Just keep in mind that if that cleanout cap fails, your hand is right behind it. It's not like it will take off your hand or anything, but it's gonna hurt.
As for the flints, Zippo ones work best. Also, did you check the cap of the lantern lighters for spare ones? They usually have one stashed in there.

yes its in the cap. and i moved the sparker into the cap on the first gun too, plugged the hole with a big hd screw
i screw it on pretty tight everytime, usually have to use big vice grips to unscrew it, hope it doesn't fail though. i think the potato will fly out the barrel before the threads on that cap are stripped imo
ya i went through one and lost another so i had to use the extra from my second lighter. will the zippo ones fit on my lantern lighter?

You should be able to get the flints anyplace that sells lighters.
Most bodegas have'm for smokers who use zippo lighters, look for zippo fuel to find the flints.
Most grocery stores will have'm if the sell cig's or cigars.
Cigar shops'l have'm
