Barrel to Chamber Ratio?

I dont really get all this math and calculators say my ratio is ridiculous. I have a 10inch long 4inch diameter chamber and a 4 foot barrel 1.5 diameter. Am i getting as much power as i could be getting? If not tell me how i could please.

Tell us the diameter of the chamber and barrel

find the area of your chamber and divide by the area of you barrel. .8:1 is the most efficient

I dont want to seem lazy but i dont know hove to calculate the area so could some one tell me if its close to .8:1? Or what the actual ratio is. By the way here are some pics.

isn't that right?

I looked in the wiki and it said the c:b ratio=volume of chamber/volume of barrel.

what was wrong about my first post?

My ratio before I went propane was 1.5 to 1. After the switch to propane I noticed it was a lot louder. That is when I was told that 1.5 to 1 is fine for Spray-n-pray but propane needs .8 to 1. I still use the original barrel because I like the noise.

According to SpudTool calculator i have a 2.32:1 ratio. This cant be right can it?

Well, with some grade 8 level mathematics, a McMaster-Carr pipe schedule information sheet, and the trusty Windows Calculator, I've determined your C:B ratio to be 1.3:1, with the stats you gave. Keep in mind that the bell reducer will add a bit of volume to the chamber, but you must have done something wrong on the calculator.

And for future reference, because no one else has said it yet, the formula for volume of a cylinder is (pi*r^2*length).

dont use the spudtool calculator it doesnt work right if you want to use a calculator the most accurate one is the burnt latke one.
I just calculate it myself i learnt how to find the volume of a cylinder in 6th grade every body says 8th grade but maybe I was in a special school or something. :D

Hmm I got 1.68:1 must of done something wrong Ill recalculate.

Edit:I did do something wrong its actually 1.3:1 just what DYI said.
