well, i realized that i bought dwv fittings for my spud gun that i posted pic of. the wye fitting is dwv. Are these things like death or will I be ok with using them.

On a very advanced propane metered combustion with multiple spark gaps and a good fan, I wouldnt use it.

Simple spray combustions sure.
Pneumatics: No no
Metered Propane: Not quite safe

Hmm you can fire it, but there is a VERY VERY SMALL chance of it blowing up.
Its not big, but its there.
If you glued your fittings properly, you are fine I suppose, but next time do it without the dwv

thanks for the input guys. i will be tearing this thing down this weekend and rebuilding with pressure rated fittings. Even if there is a very small chance of this thing blowing up I am not willing to risk getting hurt over shooting a damn potato

Hmm I'd still be careful mate...Back when I first got into spudguns, I made a shitty spray combustion. It ended up blowing up on me but I used super glue and tape to hold it together so no wonder.....Back then I knew no better and did absolutely no research.

Anyone who knows my recent guns, shows how much a simple spudder can improve over a year .

EDIT! Sorry mate, I didn't see ya latest post about rebuilding with pressure rated fittings. All the best with ya gun aye.

This is total doublethink, and I wish people would stop casually repeating it.

The peak pressure in a spray n' pray combustion can occasionally reach similar levels to a metered combustion if the mix is right, and peak combustion pressure from propane could potentially reach 100 psi in rare situations.
Pressure is pressure, be it from a combustion or a pneumatic.

It's simply not sensible to say that unrated pipe is fine for almost any type of combustion (all according to some people) but not any pneumatics (of any pressure, according to similar people). Frankly, I'd rather say neither.
