spudfarm: wouldn't he have to change the steel wool every time he shoots?

Yep, he would but you don't need much... A small bag that cost five bucks would last for a long long time...

Grill starters is the best bet...in fact it is all I ever use...

can you post some pics? what kind of bbq lighter a piezo or electric? what fuel are you using, maybe you are using too much or not enough to ignite.

decrease the span of your spark gap... you don't need a huge spark to ignite. but your best bet would be to buy a new bbq sparker, (depending where you live) they have them for 10 bucks at home depot and 12 bucks at fleet farm.

Well it says if all else fails. :D Maybe not one that powerful. It looks about 1500W. A 500W tesla will do. But if you need 15 gaps for a hybrid...

lol...15 gaps...chamber would be about 20 feet in diameter and 100 feet long to need 15 spark gaps lol. but in a clear chamber, that would be pretty cool, even cooler than a spark strip.

I spent about 10 bucks with shipping for a 70kv stun gun a few years ago online. Good price and GOOD ignition.
