first Ghetto cannon.... RIP.

like the title says this is my ghetto cannon.

the combustion chamber is 6" x 7" long.
the barrel is 2 paper towel rolls glued together.

and here are some pictures.

i had dyed fired it 2 times with no problem. so i tried to fire it with a paper towel in the barrel...... i don't know what can go wrong.....

The cardboard will hold IMO, it'll be the joints that fail.

Even then, cardboard is not noted for being brittle and prone to breaking to large pointy shards, so it's not particularly dangerous even in the event it should fail.

Exactly, I was just replying to Demon, who thought the cardboard would fail before the joints. Which seems unlikely.

Actually the winner of the first ghetto award (whose name escapes me) made a succesful (and rather impressive) cardboard cannon.

what would men be without ducktape:p
if seen a big cardboard gun somewere on the net a while ago.
it wont catch fire because all air is gone after the combustion and because it is flexible it will hold if it's a little proper.
and it is very easy to construct :D

My guess would be that it blowing apart was easier than shooting the projectile.

ya i put the paper towel in the barrel and when i fired it. it just blow into 2 pieces. even i was like :shock: wow!!!

and then me and my dad started to lol :lol:

This was paper towel roll tubes, (looked like). Could have been Salty's Klen-x ghetto cusen..... :P Nice one.
