Most everyone knows when people street race or drag race they use Nitrous Oxide to give their car a boost. So I was wondering if it would do the same for my spud gun. Any ideas as a fuel or just a booster?

Any flammable vapor can be used as a fuel. I'm not sure what the burn rate and burn temperature for nitrous oxide but you can get those numbers you can compare it against propane butane and mapp...

Ouch that one hurt like you step on my nuts...

Nitrious oxide is an oxidizer which supplys oxygen to the combustion, chances of DDT would most probably be higher. I made a thread about this a while back, all info you need is supplyed by people there. Really it would be better to use pure O2 instead it is jsut as effective, theoretically(to make this simple) it replaces air but you still need a fuel. As i said use the search and read that thread of mine it has some good info!

Yes Nitrous is only an oxidizer, not a fuel...and even if it was a fuel, it's much more expensive than propane ever thought about being.

Increasing burn rates and/or amount of fuel because of addition of oxidizers is dangerous.
Your basically making a hybrid this way, a metal chamber is a must and on top of it DDT will happen WAY FASTER when there are added oxidizers.
