I've seen a couple of different ignition systems on this site, but I recently saw one that I think could be better than all of them. This system has no hassle with things like spark-strips because I've seen it produce a 2" spark gap with high voltage.

Here's a video

This is one of the smaller ones I have seen, It looks more compact than others, making it Ideal for mounting on a cannon. It might have been used already, but the searches pulled up nothing.

That would be amazing to see installed in a clear chamber :P
If I could find the correct electronics without spending a fortune, I'd totally try to make one, since the schematics aren't very complicated at all.

Or, if you happen to have an insane amount of cash lying around, you could order a Marx generator here :D Check out how expensive these things are  Then again, those are just a little bigger than the one shown in that video, lol.

That's the kind of thing that would be mounted on a mega-spud gun that shoots cows! I hope to see a project with one, it would be BA

these need another high voltage source to power them, pointless. I got the stuff to make a large one (2' sparks atleast), but i am going for a bipolar tesla coil =)
