After much debate we fired up the drill press and put together a compact metering device prototype. It mounts nicely with our Concoa regulators and user can choose length of metering tube. Consists of 3 machined parts so cost will be budget minded. Turn knob towards tank port to fill, then turn away to meter.
Specs.
1/8" NPT inlet
3/4" NPT metering port
1/4" dump port

Is that a three-way valve?

sorry for asking... but don't you think that an off-the shelf 3 way ball valve would be cheaper ?

Maybe... How much do they go for? Also, we are trying to avoid the "Home Depot" look. The twin ball valve metering devices I've built in the past cost me $60.

certainly, I understand that the guns look cooler thx to machined parts... but the question is whether it's worth it or not
here is what I found with google... I suppose that that's more less a reasonable price for them... it's a good idea to spend some time to find the best offers as sometimes the difference in price between different suppliers can be as high as 30-50% (no it's not a joke)

I dont know how common this is but I got these 3 for $13, and I have already tested them out for one touch metering. That said, I really like the looks of your machined parts.

That thing is cool, but I can't immagine something doesn't already exist off the shelf that will still look cool.
