igniter info.

i`ve been having the same problem with my igniter. i just built this spug gun this week and have fired only three times but the bbq ignir\ter arks to it self i am using a 1/4 spark gap but will try a 1/8 gap. can someone tell me how wire a solaris blash camera flash circuit up yo make a igniter

You should look for an igniter from one of the websites that sponsor the site if you cant wire up a push-button style igniter yourself. It will be modified for you thus saving you the trouble of doing it yourself.

If you are using a generic BBQ piezo then it'll work fine for a single spark gap. No reason to make it more complicated.

1/4" is too big, 1/8" or a bit less is better. It'll also work best if the electrodes are pointy instead of blunt. Drywall and deck screws (fine thread preferably) work well.

You need reasonably good electrical connections, though they don't have to be perfect. Also check that the screws don't have a paint coating that is acting like an insulator.
