what is the best way to attach a propane canister to the direct injection system. i know you can hack off and thread the torch but is there an attachment that can directly attach to the canister?

Unthread the shaft from the needle valve (base) of the torch, and thread in the 7/16"-24tpi straight threads from a 1/4" NPT x 1/4" OD compression adapter into the base with some teflon tape.

If it looks anything like the one in the how-to, then yes.

Picture please? It's most likely you're just not trying hard enough. Using a 10" pipe wrench and an adjustable wrench I just kept twisting until it came apart.
