propane problems

i have a 3 inch chamber appx 2 feet long and a 1 1/12 inch barrel apprx 4 feet long. i built a propane meter that has a 3/8th inch pipe that is 10 inchs long thats attached to the chamber that i cant get to fire except for once that barely had any power. im useing a latern ignitor as my ignitor i really need help with solveing this problem. im really bad with math and could use the help.

What pressure are you using, and exactly what is the meter volume.

well i tried around 40 psi? and i dont mean to sound dumb but what is "meter volume"?

The meter pipe volume, that includes fittings.

I think they mean the literal volume of your meter. Like how many cubic inches it is.

it is a 3/8th inch pipe thats 10 inches long with two valves and a hose about 2 feet long with a pressure gage.

Assuming the atmospheric pressure where you live is 14.5 psi and the volume of your meter is 1.2 cu in. Your pressure should be around 85psi. If you live at a high elevation then reduce the pressure

jmc, you still haven't given the volume of your fuel meter. Measure it and tell us, or you're not going to get anywhere with this question.
