would anybody be able to draw me a diagram that is simple in how to make an ignitio col a continus spark? i am very confused and all the helpm i could get would be great also i need to know what parts i would need to buy. i already have a 12volt ignition coil
like with a momentary switch and a 9volt will that do the trick??

First read this, it explains how ignition coils work and the basics of wiring them:
http://www.sentex.net/~mwandel/cannon/sparky.html

This page has a wiring diagram: http://wiki.4hv.org/index.php/Ignition_Coil

what kind of ignition coil? i just built a new gun and i am running it with a GM HEI ignition coil off of an 89 caprice. it works quite well.

easiest way to do it is to get the coil and the connector that goes to the coil.

http://www.sentex.net/~mwandel/cannon/sparky.html

go off of the diagram on that page. use a 9 volt battery. where it has listed for a breaker point youll need to put a momentary switch. use 2 2" stainless steel screws for the spark gap. dont gap them more than 1/4" apart. more like 1/8" is optimal. easiest thing to do is get a spark plug boot and some 8 gauge wire. run the wire to the tower of the coil and then to one of the screws. run the other wire for the ground side of the circuit to the ground on the coil and finally to the battery - (neg.)

you wont get a continuous spark. theres no such thing as a continuous spark. itll spark once for every time you hit the button. keep in mind. a single coil on a v8 engine turning at 6000 RPM will spark 800 times a second. so it dosent matter how many times, how, fast, or how slow you hit the button. if its hooked up right itll spark.

The circuit with the light dimmer carries mains voltage, this makes it too dangerous for use in spudgun ignition.

you will not be able to make a continuous spark but you can have a very rapid one ( like every 2milli seconds) i dont know if you have done it yet but let me know and ill post how to do it, by the way im a car mechanic so i should know what i'm talking about lol
