I bought a 150,000v stungun for my ignition in my new cannon(propane metered)for $60.I could have got it cheaper but I didn't have a choice at teh time and I rushed my purchase, I took it apart and added a few switches and put it in a project bow, i had a short in my bow and a spark jumped to my switch, frying all of the elctronics and my stungun circuit.
60$ down the drain.
I am so angry about potato guns right now, all togethr this canon has costed me over 250$ so far and I have nothing to show for it.

it rely sucks wen u try rely hard to make it work and spend the money and it just dosent want to work u should do a camera stun gun u can get the old cases for free from the camera shops

Could have been a weak ground/bad connection at the power source.

That's not cool, ain't it? $250 is more than I ever spent on a potato gun. What else cost you all of that money?

On a second note, maybe you may just want to go with gas-grill ignition, or some other sort of piezoelectric or electric igniter already assembled. Or maybe next time just don't take the stungun apart and just hook up the wires to the shock leads and add a cover to that.

Ya I'm picking up a 30$ 100,000v within a week and I'm going to file down the short leads and put wire connectors onto the main leads.then slap a contraption of pvc onto it to cover the leads.
My cannon has been costly mostly because of the Propane setup,70$ for tap and die set, 20 for reg,50 on odds and ends pieces. 70$ for cannon itself including teh price of broken pzeizos. another 100 on my last stun gun setup.

Dude, I'm sorry for the loss of the stun gun and the high cost of this most recent project. That really sucks. But like the Phoenix you shall rise from the ashes of defeat and LIVE TO SPUD AGAIN ! ! ! ! ! (at least you didn't take a 150,000 volt zap in the process)

Sorry but it is your fault. If you rush something then something always goes wrong. Trust me on this I=example on how not to do things most of the time

why does everyone need a tap to thread pvc... you can easiely do it with the fitting.

Yeah most of the time but if you take the risk and it leaks then your screwed.

I wouldnt count the price of the tap and die set into your gun cause im sure they will be used another time in some other project.

Actually, I did take a shock, as soon as I got it I made my dad shock me, I peed my pantsX(

Actually,other than online, that was the cheepest I could get for that price.

dude you could have just bought individual taps off the internet instead of 70 bucks for a kit. Home depot online sells 1/2" taps for 7 bucks

I neded the die to thread a propane valve, and I just wanted to have the set.

Have people not heard about the little propane fittings yet? They can be found with grill stuff at some stores and they are used to hook a 1lb disposable tank up to a grill regulator. The threads are 1/4 NPT. They work perfectly and are still cheaper than a torch head even if you buy a nice ball valve to thread onto it.

The only taps I have are a 1/4NPT, and 1/8NPT, and I use one of my dads taps for cutting bolt threads for ignition. Taps costed probably less than $5 for each pipe tap, and like $15 for the small tap kit my dad bought at Harbor Freight.

If you have a soldering iron and possibly a multi meter, you may be able to find what fried in the stun gun, and fix it. I fried the traces on an electronic grill ignitor once, and after soldering wire onto it it worked just fine. I managed to fry it by hooking it up to a power supply I salvaged off a printer, it was the largest one I could find in my room. Then I Fried the thing for good after running it off that power supply again for a long time.
