Hi, i am new to spud gunning and have made a simple combustion spud gun for my first attempt. I am wondering which would be the best way to put the fuel in (hair spray) should i just unscrew the bottom cap spray then close and shoot or link it up with a hose or somethin what is the best way ?

With compressed cans like hair spray just spray it in and put the end cap back on. If you are using propane, butane whatever they use in your area you should build a meter device.
Note: for beginners study up on meters before trying to build one last thing be want is for you to build one wrong and cause you to blow up.

Mmm, blowing up is always bad. Spray and pray for aerosol, meter for propane and such.

I'd like an explanation of how the F he thinks you will blow yourself up with an impropperly built propane meter.

Well if you had one that leaked there's a decent chance that it could burst into flames. Also if you didn't build it up to par to handle the pressure of the combustion, although minimum, it could pop open and, again, burst into flames. Although i do have to admit it'd be pretty hard to make one that bad, you'd almost have to try.

He might have meant improperly using one that you've built. ie. forgetting to close the valves upon ignition. Even then, it needs air to combust.

I meant he uses wrong matterials improperly assembles or any number of things that could go wrong.
I doubt he would be stupid enough to build on that bad but hey stupider things have happened.

i think using a ball valve instead of an endcap is great it alows u to fill and vent ur gun easily and without getting annoyed always unscrewing them

An intentionally failed propane meter, sounds like an interesting experiment.
