help with burntlatke style vent valve

Hey all, well after seeing sgort's blue flame III, and burntlatke's vent valve thing, I want to make one similar to that.

Here is my design..Please tell me what you think about it and what I could improve on..As I said in the drawing, I need some ideas for the rubber sealing block.

It's fine, for the rubber block, just use a chemistry beaker plug thing.
