Well, I remembered the old potato cannon my dad used to have, so I got him to help me make another one.

So far its pretty standard combustion, but I made it with detachable barrels and a few other things. I'm planning to work on it this summer and make it alot better.

Its made out of ABS-
Runs on propane (4-7 seconds)-
Barrel is 2 inches-
C. Chamber is 4 inches-
The igniter is a lantern sparker-

Over the summer I hope to add:

A golf ball and tennis ball barrel-

A breech loading barrel with a bolt (like a rifle) for easy insertion of airsoft bb's (I plan to use it in a game as artillery)

Possible propane injection (We have been spraying it in the chamber with a unlit torch)

A bbq sparker ( I want to shoot it like a rocket launcher on my shoulder)

I got the name from Chrono Trigger, best Snes game ever...

Is it a common name for swords/manga?

Also, in the story below, he also got two swords with foam on them to hit each other with.....I owned everyone :D I like swords.... I love katana's.... Ever play metal gear solid?

:) Thanks, I was hoping this forum was alive. All the others I've been to are all dead.

What reminded me of spudguns was two weeks ago my friend got a combustion gun that looks sort of like what mine is, only smaller and different fittings.

He got the gun from his friend after he got a better gun, and my friend tried shooting it for the first time since he had gotten it on his birthday after most people had left.

Well, I was there, and he used black stove pipe paint as a propellant and used way too much of it.

On the second try the gun shot, but the potato didn't go farther then you could throw it. I was wondering why he was looking down at his hand slowly too.

Turns out the C. chamber burst right where he was holding on with his hand.He wasn't hurt, and the gun was made of ABS, the side ripped out a little. I'll try to get pictures of it if I can.

He was damn lucky though, I'm never making a combustion gun out of PVC.

It's the name associated with the best japanese swords, also Masamune Shirow is one of the best manga artists ever, behind such masterpieces as Ghost in the Shell.

Oh no.
Please no anime discussions.

Great first gun. I also use a propane torch on my combustion, they're really reliable.
Come to think of it, I really need to post it sometime. Some one needs to yell at me via pm to get my lazy butt moving.
